The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology was created by the merger of Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe and Universität Karlsruhe. Both institutions carried a long tradition of pioneering research and education and in 2009 they were united to continue the tradition under the institute’s new name, abbreviated to KIT.

KIT assumes responsibility for contributing to the discovery of sustainable solutions to the challenges that face society, industry and the environment.

Led by Prof. Nicolaus Dahmen, AMBITION’s team from KIT aim to intelligently combine and integrate production systems into a process model flow sheet that creates overall mass and energy balances. It will include individual process steps, integrated in an overall design that optimises efficiency, valorises renewable hydrogen integration and CO2 utilization and verifies key indicators related to environmental impact.
